Dácio Pinheiro

Dácio Pinheiro is a Brazilian filmmaker based between Berlin and São Paulo. He produced, wrote, directed and edited several short films and music videos, before directing the documentary "My Buddy Claudia" (2009), which premiered at the "33rd Frameline in San Francisco". The documentary won the audience award at the "14th LesGaiCineMad in Madrid" and best documentary at the "17th Mix Brasil" in São Paulo. In 2015 he started working on his second documentary feature film "Eletronica:Mentes", which was selected to premiere at the "11th In Edit in São Paulo 2019" and was selected for competition at the "3rd Sonic Scene in Trani/Italy" and the "17th Indie Lisboa". He also co-produced the German art documentary "The Forgotten Treasure" (2019). He photographed the German short films "Asche, Holz und Sterne" (2020) and "Theilmann" (2023). In 2022 he released the short fiction film "Lair's Birthday", screened at several short film festivals. Currently he is post-producing the documentary feature "Lenita"; and pre-producing the documentary "Villa Lobos Artistic Caravan", a co-production with Canal Curta. As an editor, he edited the films "Tikimentary" (2010), "Old Kitten" (2014), "Museu Entre Tempos" (2018) and is currently editing the fiction series "Notícias Populares" (2023) for Canal Brasil.
